How the connection works

A private wireless link connects remote camera zones to the main network.

Suitable UniFi bridge equipment creates a network path across open space when a continuous fiber or Ethernet run is unavailable or impractical. This is network infrastructure for CCTV—not a promise that every location can be connected without a site review.

Does wireless CCTV mean the cameras need no cables?

No. A wireless bridge can eliminate the continuous network cable between locations, but each endpoint still needs suitable power, mounting and usually short local Ethernet or PoE cabling between cameras, switches and bridge equipment.

How far can a wireless CCTV bridge reach?

The practical distance depends on the selected bridge, clear line-of-sight, mounting height, interference, weather, required video bandwidth and local requirements. We evaluate the property before recommending equipment or stating an expected link distance.

Can a wireless bridge carry several security cameras?

Potentially, yes. We calculate the combined camera bitrate, recording pattern and network overhead, then confirm that the proposed link and remote switching have appropriate capacity.

Can the remote cameras record to the main building?

A properly designed network bridge can carry compatible camera traffic back to a recorder or network at the main building. The final design depends on equipment compatibility, link capacity and the required recording resilience.
